10 MINUTES LATER:
My boys are at that age where they and their friends really appreciate money for their birthdays, but I always feel like it looks like no thought has gone into the present. So while I was in the craft shop today (ahem! I've no idea how I ended up in there I saw this little gold gift box, which I thought would make a nice change for presenting the money. At the time I had no plans to decorate it, until my (non-crafty) friend said I should distress it and add a hinge or something, and well that was it!! I used the hinge from the new crown and castle plates from PaperArtsy, some black stazon for distressing and some gold zoomz. My son's friend then suggested I put the money in in pound coins and mix it with some sweets in shiny wrappers! which I think is a great idea.
I'm going to be going back to the shop for a few more of these boxes!!
Great treasure chest! yo ho ho!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Joanne using the new Paper Artsy. So much more stylish than tucking the money in a card.
ReplyDeletethis is a well nifty treasure chest and a fab gift idea - mind you I dont think I could part with it!
ReplyDeleteVery clever idea! I love it! Here in the States it's not common to give friends money, but we do often give gift cards (which are essentially the same as giving money, but in plastic form)- and this little chest would be a great presentation for those, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteFabulous box....I could see your son really appreciating this!
