on the forum I visit, we were just talking about oil pastels. so I've used some to make the background of this atc, I've used blue, green and yellow, then rubbed it over with tattered rose distress inks.
The stamps are by Inka. I've used Erica, moth wings, large collage words and sequin waste.
I embossed the sequin waste with my new favourite embossing powder. I'm embarrassed to say it's a Heat-it-up one from docrafts, but I love it. the colour is silver pearl and it really does have a lovely pearl finish.
this is also my entry for Caardvarks, where the theme is Flight Of Fancy.
Great ATC Joanne, love the softness of the pastel background.
ReplyDeleteWhat a soft gentle atc. Brilliant effect too. lol @ embarrassed- still works perfectly well don't you think. Materials dont have to cost the earth to look gorgeous as you've demonstrated here.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how to use oil pastels or what they look like but don't they create a gorgeous effect! Lovely ATC

ReplyDeleteI love all the elements here. Thanks for joining us at Caardvarks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful soft colours. I only have heat it up powders & a couple from Lakeland. They cost less & still do the job.

This is lovely Joanne - so many layers and textures and that Erica is one versatile chick!
ReplyDeleteLovely background! Such a subtle effect the pastels have. The whole ATC is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! how do you keep coming up with one fabulous idea after another for the same stamp! This is an totally magnificent card. The layers are the perfect balance for the image and the way the color highlights the wings is so unique. Just a very special piece all together :)
