This week's theme at
Less Is More is Washi Tape. You can either use some you've bought or improvise. I've seen people make it before with surgical tape and wanted to have a go. I had some lovely fresco chalk finish paints to play with from
PaperArtsy, and I'm experimenting with the different types (opaque, semi-opaque and translucent.)
I had a scraggy bit of micropore tape, so I stuck it to my cutting mat
and sponged on the translucent blood orange. I then stamped the opaque sky blue,
using this swirl stamp (one of my favourites from PaperArtsy)
and then did the same with this splatter (another fave).
Then I stamped this script (yet another fave) in black ink.

I used this to make a card using another PaperArtsy stamp (all of the stamps I have used have been from the hotpicks sets) and the splatter again. I stamped the flower under the tape, but the splatters over it.
I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. I'll definitely be trying it again.
Awesome tape Joanne, you have made a fabulous card, I so like the colours and the off the page stamping.
ReplyDeleteWashi tape looks great Joanne. And the stamping sets it off perfectly! Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about your makes is that you are so generous with how you achieve the creation. When I saw Washi tape - my heart sunk as I don't live anywhere near any crafty shops and don't have any - so it was an absolute joy to see how you created it - I think that I might get messy and have a go myself. I don't have the Paper Artsy paints yet so I will have to improvise for now. We do have a chemist in our village so they should sell the micropore tape
ReplyDeleteThis worked brilliantly Joanne, fab card too
