Rainbow arch

I made this arch for no particular reason at all. I had this girl stamp (heather) from Inka to use. As she has an umbrella the piece need a rain theme, so I decided to make a rainbow background from distress inks. I did start with a long quote which I liked
"Life is like a rainbow. You need both the sun and the rain to make its colours appear" but it looked cluttered with all that on. So I just went with the single word, and actually I think that says it all.
I chose an arch shape as I wanted it to look like she was standing in front of a window, but also because I'd had an idea. I've been sent lots of lovely arches, 4x4s etc. basically non free-standing pieces and I like to display them, and then I saw a card embellished with a binder clip in a magazine, and I just wondered, if it would be able to support a piece enough to make it free-standing.. and it does!
I have also used Inkas vine background stamp which I have stamped in black and embossed with siler pearl - just to see what happened.

  4. Love that composition. Very gentle.

(I always just atach a triangle of card to backs of arches but using a clip is a clever way of displaying)
